Ha - well interesting... I myself was thinking KaBar, but didn't want to influence any responses... My other thoughts were on a vintage Camillus or Ontario US GI Pilots survival knife. Had one back in my Navy days, and regret trading it. Thanks for your thoughts guys! --JB

If you look hard enough, you could find one with a stamp mark from his birth year.

    An heirloom??????

As it stands, right now...... my youngest son has been the only one of my 4 kids that has shown ANY interest in any of my 'stuff'.

Since that's the case..... EVERYTHING is now an heirloom! :D

    Where they send me.
Never know about future value of things, that is tough.

I would say Randall, but that is over your price limit.

My 2nd option would be something from Buck, an American classic. Buck also marks them with a year symbol so you could get one from his birth year if he was born after 1986, before then it was more of a period marking so hard to nail down the year.
