Ok I've been looking at videos for the WFT2 on YouTube and some have said you have to adjust it for every batch of brass you size and some have said you set it once with a master case that's sized and trimmed to the length you want and then it's good forever until you have to replace the cutter or switch calibers. Can anyone comment on which is actually right? If I can set it once and forget it I'm willing to buy one to dedicate for 5.56 only and a second that can be switched around to different calibers for things I don't shoot as often. I will likely have thousands of pieces of brass for 5.56 in the near future. 6.5 Creedmoor, 7.62x39, and 7.62x54R on the other hand I'm expecting maybe 100-200 at a time.

Spent an hour measuring and sorting 500pcs of 5.56 brass to see what needs to be trimmed, what is good, and what is going to end up as 300BLK in the future.
Man, I'd cut my own wrists if I had to measure all my brass before I trimmed it. I give it a quick looksie for obvious problems, and then it goes straight into the Giraud.

It's easy. I set my caliper to the length I want to not trim. Then I turn on my favorite movie. I have one three pound coffee can filled with brass on my right and a two and three pound empty cans on my left. I then proceed to watch the movie and measure brass. TaDa! :party29:

For the calibers I have a WFT Trimmer, I just stick it in and see if it starts trimming. well over half does.
For those I don't, I do what John does and just try to pass through a caliper set to the max trim length I want to accept. I tend to listen to radio though. My TV by the bench has not been on in about a year since putting the Echo Dot for Alexa to use. If the news pisses me off, I jut play Spotify with my Classic Rock play lists.

This weekend, I loaded 150 rounds (3 boxes) of my 45 SWC Powder coated loads after sizing about 350 Powder coated bullets. I sure thought I'd had more time to reload this weekend but with taking son to Gettysburg, then running off to hunt Sat evening, I had a honey do list to complete first.

Loaded up about a hundred 45ACP, and then resized/deprimed ~50 6.5 Grendel cases. Light night, but I had other stuff going on.

My Inline stuff showed up a couple of days ago and I just got in to the box today and set it up. Or...well, I've installed the rail. Man, it is boss. I got a 48" rail, paper towel holder, a pair of Hornady LNL die holders (holds 4 each, actually for my Lee App breech lock quick change dies) and a shell holder holder. I also really like the Akro bin covers to allow me to fit more in my bins before the cases start spilling out. I'd imagine I'll get some more fancy bits to fit on the rail at some future point, but just wanted the basics to try out, see how I like it and what I think down the road I want organized in front of me (I'll probably get one or more of their metal trays for for misc. things).

Next day or two when I've got some more free time (clearing my driveway today is going to suck up like 2+hrs) I've got a 45acp load to work up (MBC 200gr coated SWC). I like MBC coated bullets, but I quickly came to the decision that I just don't shoot enough that the difference between bare lead, coated, plated and FMJ matters enough in price that I want the extra hassle of leading or coating in the barrel or the bit of extra hassle of bullets .001" larger. I'll absolutely keep getting and using them in 38spc. Just not in 9mm and maybe not in 45acp (though there the price delta is a lot larger. So I dunno).

Then I get to move on to either 9mm or 32acp. Former I've got most of a sample pack of MBC 115gr coated LRN where I've got a load worked up already and just loading plinking rounds. 32acp, I need to try to get a proper working load for my Cz50. Been struggling there. My Model 70 has a really short throat to the rifling and Berry's ogive is fat. So I've gotta load it a little under min COAL or it'll jam in to the rifling. Works great in my model 70 the way I have it loaded. My Cz50 though is generous and I can load them to a proper (or even long) COAL. Well, loaded short for my model 70 when the slide face strips a round it slams in to the feed ramp and is denting the nose and hanging up. Only seems to be happening on the first couple of rounds of the magazine. I don't think I've had it hang up on rounds 3-8 out of the magazine. There is a big scratch or something on the feed ramp and it could sure be smoothed more. But I think the real issue is just the short COAL. I've found the same thing happens with JHP sometimes. Short, fat bullet with a short COAL.

regular factory FMJ doesn't run in to this issue at all with either gun. Bullet shape is certainly different. Of course no one has 71gr .312 FMJ bullets right now (regardless though, I've got about 930 plated bullets to load)...

I'll just have to have two separate loads for my two 32acp guns. At least for Berry's bullets. Or I am hoping I can get a Cz50 load that works right.

I spent a solid half hour looking for my Grendel brass. I know I have more than 148 pieces. Where the other ~300 pieces got to is beyond me.

Not in my gun room. I mean, unless you are saying you are trying to locate it so you can re-home it. Then I’d love to find your Grendel brass in my gun room :D

Happily accepted my “free” bullets from Hornady for the press and case feeder promo. Only took 6 months.

Prepped 100 45ACP cases. last of what I have right now.

Weighed all my hard and soft lead then estimated how many I could cast of my Pistol and Rifle bullets.
Not as much lead as I thought but should get me through most of the spring and summer.

Figured out how many primers I have of various types. Don't have as many SPP as I would like. :envy: I'm not going to jump into the whole primer notification thing though.

I set up my new Giraud Tri-Way 5.56 trimmer and went to town. I’m about 1/3 of the way through trimming 1000 rounds of LC 5.56 brass. I’m glad to have the Giraud. It makes what used to be a horrible task into a semi-pleasant one. When I get done with these, I’ll go through my culls and turn them into .300 Blackout brass. I got a Giraud Tri-Way for .300 AAC too. It should make the final trim on them a lot more enjoyable.

The Giraud power trimmer is like that, but even better. You just swap a cutting head and a cartridge holder and you're done. One-time setup for each, and you can re-use the cutting heads across calibers (ie, .308 cutting head works for both 300AAC and 7.62x51). I still keep my old 308 tri-way around just because it's sometimes more convenient, but I'll sell it eventually.
