Also to answer the original post; I guess I would take the M1A, FAL or a PTR91 over the AR 10; but the M1A, FAL and PTR91 are banned. AR 10 is still a good rifle; just that there is no standard between the various AR10 manufacturers.

Remember it can only have a collapsible stock. The fixed stock version is ironically banned.

And the Vz-58 in 5.56 if they ever get to importing them. Yes they make an AR mag adaptor.

Yeah, I've been thinking about exploiting that loophole to do an HK93 build with a BMP93AR receiver. Anyone know of an FFL willing to go cash and carry on the A3?

Where did you find that receiver? Their website says they aren't in stock.

Bill's Bullseye in Boyds, MD. $20 transfers.

Show him the list and he would be amenable. There are numerous times I've changed his mind on guns being transferred as regulated as long as you show him the proof.

Thanks for the tip. My plan would be to get the receiver and a parts kit, ship it to Ghille for the build, and then transfer the whole rifle. Back of the envelope puts it at $1500 or so, which isn't horrible for what I'd get.

I assume they'll restock that receiver at some point...

    Must have for me: AR-15

I can swap to all kinds of calibers just by changing uppers. Even cheaper, I can turn it into a .22lr with a simple conversion kit. Jack of all trades.

So as long as you have an AR lower, you have mostly anything you want.
