It seem the average person has no damn chance in hell thanks to this ridiculous state! If you own a legit business, you have about a 98% chance of getting it...great. So the rich and or those guarding their $$$ are allowed and the rest are screwed.

And now you understand why we need people (the average person) to step up and apply. If they get their permit great, if not, then they have standing to bring a lawsuit.

How is it that courts say it is too burdensome to get a photo ID, even if free, to present at the voting booth, but to go through all of the cost to get a firearm in MD and/or a "wear and carry" permit is legal?

Exactly, and a recent decision or two are starting to point this out. Even Justice Thomas who hasn't spoken from the bench for 10 years is bringing attention to the hypocrisy between how the Amendments are treated. For example, restore a felons voting rights but not his 2A rights? Meanwhile law abiding are left by the wayside in some states.

In this state- any movement in the right direction is a cause for celebration.

That said- this puts the approval rating for applications at 97.75%, beyond corroborating what Gov. Hogan said.

Which means, the only way to FIX the problem for the average citizen, is for MORE PEOPLE TO APPLY. Nobody will believe that anything needs to be changed if there is a 98% approval rate.

Politicians in MD have a storied history of adjusting the data to make their case look better. Someone needs to do a FOIA request for the raw data to see what it actually says.

If someone took 2.5 years to get their denial, which year was their denial recorded in? The year of application? The year of initial denial? The year of appeal? the year of final denial? I put odds it was none of the above.

"I provided information that people on this board have asked about in the past, that they themselves could have asked for. When I post it it, it gets called BS and questionable, so if that is the case, why even post it anymore?"

Because your the head of a 2A group and a member of the forums...and think you are taking things too personally..

"I was trying to be accommodating for those folks that are too lazy to get the information for themselves, but no more. "

really? So I donate to the cause but because I didn't get the information myself, I'm lazy?! Maybe you shouldn't list your title of a 2A org on the forums if you cant be "accommodating for those folks that are too lazy to get the information for themselves"...

"As Z_Man mentioned, all people want to do is complain and not do anything to make a difference, all they want to do is wait for something to change without putting anything into it. I'm done pandering to those that just want to sit on their butts and complain and reap the benefits of those of us that bust are butts to make change happen."

and that's what people do, complain about things, but again, maybe you shouldn't put the title of the org you belong to if you cant handle people complaining about things...

"You're either working to make changes happen or you aren't, which one are you?" I'm the one that donates that keeps groups like yours running, and name calling isnt the way to keep people donating to the cause

Based on your OP, MSP gave you numbers with no full details and sorry that you couldn't handle people like me, saying its bull that MSP doesn't provide more details or cant because they don't break it down...

Maybe you're having a bad day or something, but if you cant handle complaints, ect on a forums page...I wouldn't put my title of a group I'm representing...that's just me...and I'm outta here! this topic is done for me...

I didn't post any of the numbers as the head of anything, so don't be reading more into it than there is. When people consistently ask about the numbers and they are told who to ask and how and they continue to ask about the numbers, yes, they are lazy. If that applies to you, then so be it, if not, then move on. MSP provided the raw numbers that I asked for, that others have wanted to know, primarily Total applications, New apps, Renewals, Denials of renewal, and Denials of new apps, so if you think they left out details, feel free to make a request for the information YOU want.

I'm not having a bad day, but I am tired of people second guessing what was asked and what was provided without being a part of the conversation, as well as people wanting information, being told where and how to get it and continuing to ask for the same information.

Wo Hoo! I just got accepted.

Regarding Handgun Permit application number 22HGP017408.

Your HGP application has been reviewed and the status changed to "Application Accepted." Your application is now awaiting assignment to a background investigator based on the order in which it was received. It is not necessary to contact the HGP section for a "status check" as you will automatically receive an email when your application is assigned to a background investigator.

Based on what I'm experiencing and hearing I'm now reserving my opinion on how MSP is handling the wear and carry permits. Appears they are making an honest attempt at moving quickly.
