The non refurb '46 on the right (top) has a blue crown. All my other M44s have a white crown like the one on the left.

Having a rifle showing that it was clearly crowned is an almost certain indicator that it was refurbished. But having one with a blued crown only suggests that it might not have been refurbished ... most still were. (BTW - a muzzle that's been crowned is not the same as one that's been counter-bored. That seems to be a misconception that pops up in threads of this sort.)

Looks all original matching to me, while it is far less common to find a postwar all original matching than a wartime or prewar, most still got refurbished, so the original ones are in the minority. What you really want to find is a postwar 91/30, very scarce and the vast majority are ex-snipers.....

The vz-52/57 was a steal. They normally go for $1000+

Agree that this was the real steal. Haven't kept up with prices on the 52/57s but they were routinely fetching $600 half a dozen yrs ago. I've never seen one of these in rough condition, all were pristine. Congratulations and welcome to the wild world of live auctions!

I agree about the VZ-52. I think the 7.62x39 ones usually command a higher price. Well done!

Yep because 7.62x39 is widely available and popular to shoot unlike 7.62x45 which is all steel cased/berdan primed with a dwindling supply as well as no more available except through secondary sales.
