    OT: what is the added benefit to Virginia and Utah if a MD resident has a Florida non-resident?

    For me I don't have a non-res Utah but I have non res VA and FL. The reason I have a non-res VA is because in PA the state police and the ag are not on the same page when it comes to the reciprocity agreement. The police believe it only applies to the FL residents while the AG has made it very clear that it applies to anyone who has a FL permit regardless of residence. To save the hassle when I travel to Phillie I have the VA non-res which they do not contest.

    Also a non-res VA permit kills the Gun Free School Zones for Maryland residents traveling through Virginia because the permit is issued in Virginia.

    "(2)(A) It shall be unlawful for any individual knowingly to possess a firearm that has moved in or that otherwise affects interstate or foreign commerce at a place that the individual knows, or has reasonable cause to
    believe, is a school zone.
    (B) Subparagraph (A) does not apply to the
    possession of a firearm—

    (i) on private property not part of school grounds;
    (ii) if the individual possessing the firearm is licensed to do so by the State in which the school zone is located or a political subdivision of the State, and the law of the State or political subdivision requires that, before
    an individual obtain s such a license, the law

    Newly-acquired Fla. Non-Resident permit
    Denied for Md permit (big surprise there.....)

    Oh well, 32 states better than none until Maryland is dragged, kicking and screaming into the land of the Constitution of the US.
