Guy isn't even in Maryland - from up near Pittsburgh, so clearly a plant as we enter the legislative season.

The Trained & Experienced vs. Gun Owners

You are 100% correct ... Maryland should be a SHALL ISSUE state. However, they still need to increase minimum training standards to get a CCW.

NO THEY DON’T. There should be ZERO standards to CCW other than you must not be a prohibited person. Actually it should be Constitutional Carry where no permit is needed at all.
It should be up to the individual to seek out training and knowledge for themselves. You know, that little thing called personal responsibility.
With every right, there is a responsibility. (None of which should be directed by the government)
You sure you don’t work for Bloomberg?

I would have just arrived, banned him and closed the thread. Norton was already responding, so I yielded to seniority.

Because MD training standards are so much lower than other states.

You jumped on the Talking Heads train.

    Doc,

I prefer to think of it, in may case and based on this thread, as exposure. My well to do uncle (Sam) started that exposure for me in 1976. He only stopped when I retired.

I wonder if the OP feels exposed?

That’s not what Lev recommends, though.

That is not supporting a Right. “Look at meeeee!!! I’m so trained!!!! I’m LEO!!!! Carry for life!!!”

You in your smugness wish to prevent huge swaths of the population from defending themselves. The single mother, or lower middle class father who don’t have the money to buy more than a HiPoint, and certainly don’t have the money for all your prescribed training. Don’t they deserve to defend themselves and their families.

Do me a favor, don’t EVER tell another soul you support the 2A because you don’t. You support guns in the hands of people who have the time and money for some nebulous training regimen and skills testing. It’s a poll tax.

Blow it out your well trained ass.

    AWESOME!
