I've never understood the appeal of DoS attacks. They rarely require intelligence or skill by the attacker

This would be the appeal. It's the equivalent of a 10/22 for a malicious hacker.

While easy to catch and stop, there are tons and tons of sites out there where the admin doesn't keep the software up to date to prevent them.

For a dedicated and experienced cybercriminal, the DoS doesn't have much appeal. You don't actually gain anything by downing a site.

Norton had a similar problem the other day but it miraculously resolved itself.

yeah.....I was screwed for about a day and a half and then the matrix righted itself.

It was odd www.dcshooters.com resolved, then www.mdshooters.com went to never never land.

i thought my work blocked it.. but was relieve it worked after i changed the dns servers.

I have had problems with this website last night and the same problem with another website at a different place computer and website today even a different ISP so its something higher up it seems.

F-ing Metrocast!!!!!!

MDShooters was down all night for me. DCShooters pulled up a screen, but I couldn't click on anything.

Had to clean some old guns anyway. Something popped in my shoulder when I was fighting a hammer spring in a Savage/Fox B Double 20ga Side by Side shotgun.

Oh well, got it finished. 30+ more to go.
