The site was unresponsive for maybe a half hour starting around 11:45 this morning. Anything to do with the move?

I also had a hard time signing on about that time. I started to go into withdrawal again for the 3rd time this month.

Same for me. No 404 error or any other message. Firefox just returned a blank screen. (FF did take a while to move from previous site to the blank screen.)

I wasn't around for this one, so I'm not sure what happened. It was most likely a network issue as I checked the server and nothing out of the ordinary was logged at that time. There is also a bit of tuning still being performed by the host technicians, so they may have been doing something.

    Nice load average!

232 apache processes is a ridiculous amount of simultaneous web connections.

Something nefarious or just everybody decided to search for different high-match phrases all at once?

And, what kind of gun do you use on zombie processes? :-D

Who's this "nobody" and why is he tieing up Gore's InterWeb?

It didn't last long and I was only a little afraid when I couldn't update on MDS.

I've never understood the appeal of DoS attacks. They rarely require intelligence or skill by the attacker and are usually fairly simple to end once caught by the admin (though still a headache).
