I have two pairs of Smokewagons that were tuned by Cody Commager. I bought them a few years ago when Patty and I were thinking about doing SASS. Still working our way to doing a SASS event.

Theres an FFL in PA who is selling Uberti Cattlemans in 45lc NIB for $260. That's how I got mine. Pretty sure he's still doing it. Tanner Sports or something. As far as being soft I've shot the piss out of mine. Hornady Leverevolution hunting rounds, magtech CAS loads, it's great. Ive even fanned the hammer a few times. (don't tell huckleberry, guy, or hodgepodge that though)

Took my new Taylor's Smokewagon Deluxe out to the range for the first time today. The action is unbelievably smooth. I think I have new favorite handgun.

I own a Ruger New Vaquero stainless, and a Ruger old model Vaquero in blue/case hardened. Both are 357 mags and shoot like a dream. I have heard good things about the gun you are looking for and you will enjoy the Single Action Army a ton!! On a side note: snag it!!:D

Off topic, where did you get those sweet 1911 grips?

I picked them up at one of the Chantilly shows a couple months ago. I don't remember the guys name, but all he sells is wood 1911 grips. I really like these because the don't have a slick gloss finish. The satin finsh looks more natural to me, and I seems to get a more positve grip without resorting to gravel grips.
