So I caved and bought a semi-auto at a gunshow, I know bad timing. But hey it was the cheapest one there. So here it is, my 1942 Tula refurb SVT-40. Now with a Ppsh sling and two magazines, I bought it magazine-less. I hadn't seen too many around and decided now was the time to buy. If the weather is nice I might try and take it out to the range tomorrow. I know some of you other guys have them so lets see em. Also, I'm now taking donations to the "This SVT-40 Needs a Bayonet Program", still working on the tax exempt status.

Ugh, I wish I had gotten into C&R's back when these things were being brought over.

That's a sweet lookin' Tok!! One of my favorite rifles to collect.
You can find the bayonets on eBay pretty regularly. Slings...not so much.

I'm sure we'd all love to see more pics!

Much as I love Russian rifles, I never got enamored with these, try to use non-corrosive because the breakdown for cleaning is daunting and whatever you do, do NOT use heavy ball ammo, the stress of it can destroy the receiver, have seen pics of one that bit the dust as a result.

Until you get your own bayonet, I've posted a picture of mine to hopefully keep you occupied. I have one additional SVT40 upcut bayonet acquired since this picture.

On top are a couple of non-refurb early type 1 SVT40 bayonets and scabbards.
    The bottom is a non-refurb SVT38 bayonet/scabbard combo.

How much did she set you back?
8 bills, and not the one dollar kind.

@Chaunsey, I like the early style muzzle brake on yours, plus a 1941, stood in the way of Operation Barbarossa maybe?

@H2u Those bayonet in addition to some others I have seen of yours lead me to ask, are there Finnish/Soviet bayonets that you don't own? Very nice thanks for sharing btw.
