Most Henry models now come with a side gate. They still make tube fed rifles too. I bought a All WeatherModel X Big Boy in 357 mag with a side gate 2 years ago. A little on the heavy side but has the classic smooth Henry action and very accurate.

I love these little rifles. I know I wouldn’t part with one at that price. Does Marlin still make them? I can’t imagine the MSRP, even with Ruger casting the receiver.

As an aside, there is a tang sight that will fit, Marbles makes it and Midway has it. Even with just one screw it fits tight.

I put a Lyman receiver sight on mine, about 45 years ago.

No .22 has side gate loading. I guess the cartridges are too tiny. The 39A feeds and shoots shorts, longs, and long rifles by the way. Shorts are so quiet indoors you can hear the hammer drop.
