Two things I keep reading about for the Sig P365 is the Wilson grip module and extended mag release. Are they really worth it?

Now I'm intrigued by the NDZ magazine extension base plates too. So far I just carry my 365X as is - currently sporting some Hornady Critical Defense ammo.
The Wilson grip module is well worth the money. It holds on to your hand so your hand position doesn't change. And, it just feels right. ;)

The Wilson is definitely worth it. They normally sell for about $65 or so, but right now they're on sale for $51.96, which is what I paid for mine. I'd also get the Tungsten rods for the grip module, adds a bit more weight to help balance the weight of the slide, and just makes everything feel more solid.

I like the extended mag release, glad I picked on up. But the spring was really stiff when I first installed, so I dropped the mag, cleared the P365X, and started depressing the mag release button over and over for a couple hours while watching TV to accelerate the break in of the spring. Now, the button is much easier to depress.

The NDZ mag finger extension was a great mod. It's aluminum, so if you drop your mag out and it hits the ground, don't have to worry about the base plate cracking like some plastic base plates tend to do. You can also get the bottom of the plate engraved, they have hundreds of designs to choose from. The extra weight of the aluminum vs. plastic helps to give a wee bit more balance and might help mag releases as well. But having that pinky extension was the ticket for me. Now, I can get a full purchase without my pinky slipping off the bottom of the grip, and it makes my 365X feel bigger than it is.

Okay, I'm a bit weird, but for my peace of mind, I wanted to add the manual safety to my P365X. So I grabbed a Wilson Combat Grip for it, since I needed to either purchase a new grip module with the safety cutout anyway (don't want to alter my original, in case I ever feel the need to go back to no manual safety).

haven't installed either yet, but the WC grip feels excellent, just holding it without being installed. waiting for day when I have a free hour to take my time for the safety add.

Test it before you trust it.

A friend of mine had a 365 that engaged the safety on its own at a match. At first, we assumed his thumb was inadvertently hitting it, naturally. He took a horrifically low grip and, with at least three sets of eyes watching intently as he shot, we concluded that it was engaging itself with the recoil...somehow. He couldn't really ride it down, so he fought his way through the match, disengaging it about every second or third shot.
He sent it back to Sig...and it got lost in the friggin' mail!!! Unbelievable! :rolleye12 So, we'll never know what the defect was.
I haven't heard of anyone else having similar trouble, but, on a carry gun...that would be really really bad.

My take away from that was not to have a manual safety on a gun that doesn't need a manual safety.

The one I got came with a manual safety. I took it off. Though I’m used to training with a thumb safety, for a carry gun, I just don’t see the point.

I bought one w/o a safety and installed one. The lever is too short for as far back as the pivot point is and I have to break my grip to operate it. Not happening. Took it back off.

Have another one that came with a safety. Since it's a spare that sits in the safe, I've left it intact. If I decide to make that gun part of the rotation, I'd have to remove the safety.

I carried a 1911 for a while and was used to operating the safety as a part of presenting the pistol, but that safety was right under my thumb and quite easy/natural to operate. The P365 series OEM safety lever is much further back. There is an aftermarket company working on an extended lever right now, but I don't think that style will help me.

IMO, the biggest part of safely handling a striker-fired pistol is being SURE the holster is unobstructed while reholstering and that the holster covers the trigger guard in front of the trigger. I holster my P365s off-body, then put the pistol/holster assembly on my belt. At night, I take my holster and pistol off as a unit and in the morning, put it back on the same way.

This is why I prefer hammer guns, DA/SA. Much safer for someone like me.
    De-cocker instead of safety, too.

Weight is the penalty, but it also is an advantage regarding recoil and staying on target.

Highly recommend the armory craft enhanced trigger return spring. For me it took much of the mush out of the trigger and made reset more positive for double taps. Part is just 7 bucks.

Not so sure about the armory craft extended slide stop though. It is easy to accidently ride, will have to train thumb position a little different if I keep it on.

They are the ones making the extended thumb safety. Not sure if I really want extended on both sides though. Might cause inadvertent flips. Will have to try.

When Glock's came out I remember being horrified about them not having a (traditional) safety. Nowadays I can't really see myself going back to guns with safeties. Just one more thing to go wrong if the gun is really, really needed. Funny how things change. If I ever get a wild hair and decide to carry a 1911 (not likely), I may change my mind again.

Same feeling when I first started buying handguns, all had external safeties.

Currently have a P365X, 3 more days of waiting until I get my Coyote XL. (My wife has taken a liking to my X and shoots it well. She wants to pursue her CCW so I’m fine with her having it)

365X, because I like the XL grip for handling, and the standard length barrel is much more appendix carry comfortable for me. My journey started with a used SAS, my in-store impression of the sights didn't carry over to the range. I still shoot it occasionally, as it would make a good backup or pocket pistol. Picked up an XL and put a Holosun red-dot and a flashlight on it, and used it for my CC permit training. Carry the 365X with stock sights, no red dot, no light, but I did replace the stock frame with the Wilson Combat XL frame. In hindsight, purchasing a used 365 with the flat trigger and separately purchasing the Wilson XL frame would have gotten me to the same place a little cheaper.

Did you find the XL too big for EDC?

Edit: never mind, you pretty much answered. I’m sick on the couch, please ignore me!

Basic P365 short barrel with manual safety in a Wilson Combat X grip replaced the Mossy MC2SC for carry. Belt or pocket depend on what I'm wearing and doing.

I grew up with an external safety and just never got comfortable with the cross bolt version on the Mossberg. If it weren't for that, I actually still like the Mossy more. They integrated the best aspects of both the P365 and Hellcat.

Anybody with a P365 of any flavor needs a manual loader like the Speed Bee.

Honestly, I have no idea what model mine would be now. Certainly not like what it started out as. Only thing that's original is the FCU.
