Hello! I am brand new to this site. I just went hunting for the second time (deer) and we bagged one!! I missed the one I shot at. This was my first time shooting ( last head I oust went along for the fun). I used a Winchester pump action twelve hauteur that I borrowed from my mofher-in-law. I am planning on buying a Mossberg 12 hauteur deer shotgun. I live in Glen Burnie. Can anyone tell me where I can get some shooting lessons and suggest a good gun club?

    Many thanks in advance…

I must say taking your first shots at a living thing is totally unethical but at least you are seeking to remedy that. We have plenty of IP's and instructors who can help. What area are you in?

May I suggest learning to shoot with a .22 and wait buying a shot gun.

This will be much cheaper in the long run if you add up the cost of ammo.

    but what do I know?

Am I the only one that thinks the OP's post has a funny smell?

    For the Benefit-of-the-Doubt crowd: Welcome!

For the rest of...me: "...last head oust..." and the two instances of twelve hauteur just seem funny. Not sure how any spell checker (benefit of the doubt: using smart phone) changes time to head or gauge to hauteur. Might be nice to meet the mofher-in-law though - she has the guns!

Hauteur: haughty manner or spirit; arrogance. (damn arrogant 12 gauges!)

Taking at face value for now :
Presuming an intrest in hunting with slugs , instruction in basic rifle skills would be more relevent than basic shotgun instruction. As noted .22lr is much more user friendly to learn the basics ( trigger control, stance , sighting ) , and much less expensive than the price of slugs.

Welcome to the forum. There are several instructors here on the forum in the Industry Partner Section. If you would like to set up a basic firearms course send me a PM.
