Reading the actual bill, it uses a "features" test to define "Semi Automatic Assault Weapon" as well as listing a number of weapons specifically included. It does not appear to include fixed stock M1 Carbines, Mini-14s, or 10/22, or most sporting shotguns. I don't like the bill, but lets not attack it for something it doesn't say.

This is a stupid idea on its face, arbitrary and with a clearly ulterior motive that everybody above has pointed out.

This is a case where we shouldn't even dignify them with a substantive response.

Ridicule them, mock them, and if anything, argue the opposite -- children must be properly trained in the use and safety of these firearms so it is ingrained at an early age. Suggest federal funding and mandatory training.

    Period.

Kuntzman probably begged for this bill cause 9 year old girls made him look like a massive sissy cause he couldn't handle the recoil, and ptsd that revealed how little his inner winke was.

Did they state what issue this law is solving? Are 16 year olds the threat because they were allowed to shoot semi/auto firearms in controlled environments?

This is nothing more than social engineering....prohibit kids from experiencing/enjoying the use of a firearm while they are at an impressionable age...

Nailed it! Exactly their intent along with firearms demonizing propaganda in as many venues as possible.

It would mandate the exact opposite of responsible, safe firearms training.

Youth aren't even the problem, unlike auto accidents. They would prevent more deaths if they banned anyone under the age of 21 from driving a car.
