    I've been keeping up on this since the beginning. I think it's going to be very nice and the 5000 price tag is reasonable. But do I really want/need one? I sold off all of my German stuff so the answer is ultimately no.

    It's a darn cool project! I thought, like Jobu said, they were pretty rare, so at first I thought they were kit ressurections, but it looks like they're building from scratch. That makes it even funnier that the American "tribute" could reach greater numbers than the original...

    Over on GK43forum.com they were discussing these. The owner (I think!) of SMG Guns posted during initial trials and builds that the recoil was about the same as an SKS. Of course, individual mileage will vary. More power to SMG for making these, but it's out of my price range. None the less, I'd love to own or even shoot one, original or reproduction.
