The Governor's gun ban has passed the 2nd Reader with amendments on the Senate floor. A favorable 3rd Reader vote is expected tomorrow. The Governor's bill will then advance to the House for consideration by the House Judiciary Committee.

Please continue to take the following actions:

Call & Email the Governor: 410-974-3901 or 1-800-811-8336 Email Governor O'Malley

Tell the Governor, your Senators and Delegates that you oppose SB 281/HB 294 in any form. Short and to the point works best.

So if you only had 1 day to take leave - which day to go? I imagine they still will hold other hearings on 3/5 that we need to show up for (andhopefully have permit for). Is it worth showing up on 3/6 if they hold a vote?

The fact that they keep changing the calendar - pushing votes back

IS PROOF THAT WE ARE WINNING

if things were really going their way, the bills would have already been reconciled by both houses and sent to MOM the way they did in NY (which is coming undone day by day!!).

yep...this is good news for NY and potentially good news for us as it sets a precident if MD ends up needing to go the legal route on this...

Is there still a hearing on the 5th in the Senate and the House or is the 5th the House and 6th the Senate?

Edit: I'm only asking because my wife wants to go but she would have to get her leave request in tomorrow in order to be off on Tuesday. So this also begs the question, which is the better day, the 5th or 6th to take off?

Does this mean there's nothing for tomorrow now?

    ABSOLUTELY SHOW UP TOMORROW!!!

The date that is in question is the 5th. They may be moving it to the 6th because we have been planning to come down and give them grief. Frosh has to resort to tactics like this because things aren't going his way.

According to WKTV.com, The Buffalo-based attorney who is spear-heading a lawsuit against Governor Andrew Cuomo’s recent gun laws said that Wednesday was “monumental,” as a State Supreme Court Justice issued an order requiring New York State to show good cause that the law is constitutional.

New York State has until April 29 to respond or else an injunction will be issued.

It will be interesting to see what response the state comes back with and then, if the court will accept it.

    WOW! That's HUGE for us.
