Don't try and debate the specific aspects of each of these bills in an email. They aren't going to read it. Just tell them HELL NO with respect to all of it

Yeah, definitely. We were able to talk to the staffers for some of our senators/delegates when in town on Wed. Even the the ones against the bill said they can only briefly scan each email for something that may stick out, given the amount of emails that have been coming in.

We had our Senator, Mac Middleton, come and hold a mini town hall at our gun club (SCSC) on Mon. He said 281 is coming out of committee (no way to kill it) and he's voting against it but something is going to pass, the question is how bad is it going to be. He's is total agreement with all our arguments against 281 and the other associated legislation but seemed at a loss as to how to stop it or even mitigate it. I made it a point to tell him that the more restrictive the legislation was the more divisive it would be and the more it would hurt the party........and he needed to take the message back to Miller and the other leaders that it would be a mistake to alienate voters just to build a resume for O'Mally's presidential aspirations. In the end I think he was there more to let us vent and soften any back splash against him more than anything else.......

"No State shall convert a liberty into a privilege, license it, and charge a fee therefor." --Murdock v. Pennsylvania, 319 US 105, US Supreme Court. (1943)

The U.S. Supreme Court broadly and unequivocally held that requiring licensing or registration of any constitutional right is itself unconstitutional. --Follett vs. Town of McCormick, S.C., 321 U.S. 573. (1944)

Those are great quotes! Don't believe I have heard either before.

We need to make sure the backsplash is extensive.

Senator Jacobs told me the same thing. "Something is going to pass." I think we all knew that given the political make up of this state. It is unfortunate that the lemmings of Maryland continue to put these socialists in office.

I was at the meeting. My opinion is that he was for AWB and for Magazine limits, but against all licensing, registration and fees.

    You can watch for yourself....

I was there also, I would 2nd that. That is me in the blue sweater facing away from the camera.

A question... I apologize if it has been addressed previously. I live and work in Maryland (for now) and own a house in Florida. Some of my guns are at my second home in Florida, they were purchased in MD, but are now physically in Florida. What can MD do about those guns under this legislation?
    Thanks,

    Agreed,

    I've written and written, several letters until my fingers are sore and i've either received no response, or I've gotten the usual BS reply. I've also shown up at all events I could possibly attend, however, the bottom line is this;

    1) THEY DON'T REALLY CARE ABOUT THE 2nd AMENDMENT or WHAT YOU THINK, THIS PROPOSED LAW IS ALL ABOUT CONFISCATION!
    2) THEY HAVE THE VOTES AND WILL PASS THIS LAW!
    3) MANY WILL THEN OWN WEAPONS THEY CAN'T LEAVE THE HOUSE WITH (unless its to surrender them to the MSP).
    4) YOU'LL EITHER REPORT THEM TO THE MSP OR FACE JAIL TIME.
    5) IF YOU REPORT THEM, THE NEXT NEW TOWN TYPE OCCURRENCE, (which will happen as all these new laws do nothing to address the real issue) THEY WILL THEN PASS ANOTHER LAW ALLOWING THEM TO SIMPLY KNOCK ON THE DOOR AND SAY LET'S HAVE THEM.

They no longer follow the laws of our Nation or State, ask yourself, are Citizens required to follow unconstitutional laws enacted by governments run amuck?

I'M sure many won't like my response, but if you are honest you know what I'm saying is right. Senator McCarthy was 100% right, and we now have communists at the highest levels of government. So called Progressives and their liberal mind sets HAVE (not ARE) destroyed this nation and its founding principles.
The answer to this problem is written in our founding documents, the problem is that more then half of our nations inhabitants have no real comprehension of what the founders handed us. Expressing concerns to those who don't give a damn what you think HAS BECOME A WASTE OF TIME.

As far as Gun laws on a national level goes, I don't believe they have the votes, (and they certainly DON'T have the RIGHT, though that's never stopped them) to pass Obama's proposed legislation
    .
Is it not amazing that someone who, based on their background, and known associations could not qualify to be an FBI agent, or even a Secret Service Agent, yet can become the President of the United States and set out (mainly by executive order, or circumventing the laws of the land) to fundamentally change what our nation was founded upon?
Does anyone else find that ODD?

McCarthy, exonerated by the Venona Papers if not before, was basically right about Soviet agents working for the U.S. government. And now, thanks to yellow journalism, our liberal educational system, and 'shadow party' money funding progressive candidates, that situation has grown to the point that the president is the Head-Marxist-In-Chief, emboldening every last one of 'the party' to follow 'der leader'.

We must be striking a nerve however, when Chris Mattews channels Edward R. Murrow in calling Ted Cruz’s innuendo war against Hagel "the new McCarthyism".

Simply put, Maryland cannot do anything if the guns are located outside the state line.

SB0281 Committee Vote Tuesday? the 19th..

    Hi,

I was just out at Freds Sports in Waldorf. I go down there on occasion to shoot, they have a new indoor range.

While I was there Chris from Maryland Shall Issue was handing out fliers, saying that the committee vote on SB0281 is going to be held this next Tuesday the 19th. As he explained it, this was a change initiated by the Governor's office.

It looks like they are trying to get this bill out of committee and vote on it quickly.

Is there anyone else from Waldorf, looking to go to Anapolis and try to let them know that this is a bad idea?

MSI handout reads: Contact your State Delegate.
    Find your state delegate: 410 946 5400
