Was that just a drop in conversion? No timing issues going from 6 to 5 shots?
Opps, looks like I downloaded the wrong picture from the Howell Arms website. Mine is six shots. However, I was really amazed that the cylinder was completely drop-in. There was no fitting at all, at least on mine.

Well, that's good to know, too ;)

New addition last week- Taurus 605 Poly Protector .357 Mag. Didn’t expect to pick up anything but was at a cheap price used and while Taurus revolvers can be hit or miss I took a chance.

Shot it last weekend, went bang every time and while it’s definitely snappy with .357 loads, controllable and accurate. .38 it’s a pretty soft shooter considering it’s a 19oz or so 2” .357. Another CCW or secondary car option.

Hold on tight when you light off a full house magnum! That's an excellent revolver but the 2" tube can make it a real flamethrower.
I’ve got very fond memories of my pops squeezing the trigger on his 2” model 19 at on target. I vividly remember the stall shaking and another guy came down and asked if he just shot a cannon lol

A buddy of mine whittled the handle of my Pietta 1873 and inlayed a Celtic cross on each side. I wanted it to be in the same flavor as the "Hand of God" from the movie 3:10 to Yuma, but I wanted it a little more personal. It is definitely one of a kind. Sorry about the poor quality of my cell phone pictures.

Let us know how it works out. Looks nice

Taurus sure does like emulating S&W…appearance, model numbers…856 -586

IIRC Taurus and S&W at one point were both primarily owned by the same corporation or conglomerate and they had some sort of research and design sharing agreement.

They were 'sister companies' for 7 years. Taurus probably has the right to use technology and designs from that time period without being sued for patent infringement.

    BANGOR PUNTA CORP

    1970
American conglomerate company Bangor Punta Corp., then-owners of Smith & Wesson, purchases a controlling interest in Taurus. As sister companies, Taurus and S&W share technology, with both companies benefitting significantly from Taurus engineering and manufacturing advances.

    TAURUS IS RE-ACQUIRED

    1977
Controlling interest of Taurus is re-acquired by the company principals, severing ties with the Smith & Wesson brand and initiating a diversified expansion program in handgun development and manufacturing.

A recent acquisition. First year S&W 586. The combat stocks are not original, but came with the gun. The original style target stocks are easy to find, but these made the gun almost a bargain.

Picked up my new to me Taurus 44 in .44mag today, brought out one of my earliest revolvers, a .44 Special Taurus 441 6” made in the early 90’s and mine for about 20yrs now to join in the picture. Was already loading .44sp over the years, will be an easy transition into magnum loads as well.

Those dark wood grips look really nice on that bottom gun.
