This S&W 19-3 is pinned and recessed. Behold the grip, up close. Great investment gun!

Wow, you went BIGLY on your first revolver.

Here we go: The Holy Grail package: A beautiful Smith & Wesson blued Model 19-3 snub nose with 2.5 inch barrel purchased in the late 60s or early 70s, put in a drawer and never taken out--at least that's the appearance!

The bonus is the original box, but the Holy Grail is the UNOPENED package of S&W cleaning tools.

Picked it up for $450. On GunBroker, the Buy It Now price for a gun in this condition with original box and tools is over $900.

Rack...she's pretty! Ill give you 475.00...let you make a few bu:innocent0cks

Wow, you went BIGLY on your first revolver there, Robar35. Don't look directly at it, or you will be nickel-blinded. Love to know how many shekels it took to take possession...

So excited, my first wheel gun.
Sweet. The one from Engage, right? I got a 1969 nickel Python as my first 2017 firearms purchase. Like a 60s/70s muscle car, for me, blued and nickel Pythons are timeless beauties.

Wow, amazing find for the condition, the rarer barrel length, box, and price. Nice addition.

Great score Rack!!! If you call S&W with the serial # they will tell you the year of manufacture. That's how I found out that my 19-3 is vintage 69.

It's all downhill from there! You may find some that you like as much but you probably won't find one that can out-shoot it.

    Congratulations!

To think all it took was a couple snubbies and a Colt trooper and now you're an addict ;)

Putting me in the lane between you and Fidelity at Dottrio was a conspiracy! You both were tired of seeing me sing CZ's praises and intentionally got me hooked!

I'm taking a buying break.....went a little crazy there not to long ago but finally got a mini 30.

Plus I'm sure A1 is sick of swiping my credit card hahaha

I used to buy from Collectors Firearms, but found they got even more stupid than the GB auctions with their prices. They certainly gave their website a makeover. Can pretty much guarantee the MD Commemorative was not done at the S&W factory. I think it's the Heritage Foundation who has them all blinged-out. They did it with some Pythons too. Waste of a good Model 29 imho.

Came across this State of MD commemorative model 29 for sale. If anybody is interested, see link.[/URL]

Stay far away. Resale value of that type of "commemorative" gun is terrible. Can take years to sell one because collectors run the other way.

I have been tempted for a number of years to pick up one of these sets though.

Interesting that the PYTHON barrel stamp is on the opposite side of the barrel than a regular Python on this Bicentennial set. Don't recall ever seeing this before.

Wish I had bought the Colt Double Diamond Python and 1911 stainless set, and the Python snub Snake Eyes when they were affordable.
