This is why they have to stop waiting forever to pass these bills. They waited forever to bring this to a vote, and now it's too late.

Not when the narrative of "Republicans are gunned down by a madman again" gains traction.

The only difference between the Arlington shooting and this one: the Arlington shooter shot at lawmakers, not nobodies.

It was rumored that Paul Ryan was blocking it anyway. This is just an excuse. I really hate to see Schumer win. :(

The GOP leadership can now use it as an excuse to shelve it, since they didn't seem to be backing it anyway.

Exactly Paul Ryan didn't spend anytime folding. What does a national conceal carry bill have to do with a madman shooting folks from a hotel room with rifles.

Just like periodically in certain threads here there emerges a theme to the effect of : "psychopharmalogical medication is evil, m'kay . Never mind different ones ,different protocols , different diagnoses , anything to make any of them go away is a Good Thing on general principles."

Substitute Firearm for medication , and that's how large portion of "them" feel .

I can't ever see that gaining traction, no offense.

AFAIK the bills are not “shelved” as some news reports suggest. The bills weren’t scheduled to be voted on this week to begin with. The House will move on them likely this month.

Right now their focus is passing the federal budget for the next fiscal year.

Also you folks should (if not already) contact Paul Ryan’s and Bob Goodlatte’s offices in support of these two measures.

I have long been done with the inept GOP "leadership" if that is what anyone wants to call it! I am tired of waiting for the GOP to grow little tiny weeny balls!

It's being rumored National Reciprocity is now being shelved as well. From a 50/50 or greater chance of passing to now disappearing into thin air :(

If Wayne Lapierre is a smart man, he will hitch the NRA's wagon to Bannon/Breitbart, the new pro-Trump, anti-incumbent GOP PACs, and realize that Paul Ryan and every one of his globalist establishment bootlicker sycophants have no place in the future of the party.

Playing nice has clearly failed, now it's time to take the gloves off.

Now is the perfect time to extract a major objective from the Dems.

    Want to regulate bump stocks?

    Give us National Reciprocity

    don't want to?

    no deal then

This is what I'm hearing. The NRA will give the Bump Stocks to the Dems, but in return they have to give us national reciprocity.
