As far as me joining the maryland gun rights fight. There really is no fight. I would rather spend my money on firearms and things that matter rather than inexperienced lawyers and people incapable of creative legal combat. What happened in 2013 could have been stopped with good legal teams, media contacts , real activism , and networking but it was crushed by incompetence , and lazyness on our side. Our only salvation in maryland still remains the supreme court saving the ar15 by name and depending on monday that fight could land sooner than later.

Then stay off this thread and go home. Your attitude is why Maryland is the way it is. Awful lot of insults in the above paragraph.

realism is about understanding your position. The VA senate just passed SB 35 and they are passing the others right now as I type this along party lines (hilariously with some republican support).

There is no "lobby day" on monday. Your chance to lobby was before the bills were signed into law. What northram is doing is a "tear gas 2nd amendment supporters and have CNN call you white supremacists" rally.

Sorry to be a negative nancy but the same old timers that failed maryland failed virginia. The date of this event was moronic and should have been moved the second they changed the legislative plan. You are attending a protest because there is nothing to lobby. Period

I made this thread to give people accurate information about the event , legal advice , and how northram screwed with the law to make it happen. I didnt come here to make you feel good or make you feel like you are going to win.

And i SURE AS SHIT didnt sign up here to be called a moms demand shill.

I don't know how many times on this forum I have typed out replies only to realized it better to delete and not hit submit reply.

Am I the only one who does that?

alright this thread was a mistake. You goofy baby boomers are on your own. Your behavior is why you keep losing these easy to win fights and pushing away people who want to help.

Just fyi, My reply was not directed at you, but at the event and lawyers.
Short reply is that it took lawyers to get us into this mess, I don't see them getting us out of it. We are following the same path as all of the other places in the world with strong .gov and weak people.

OK, it's not a protest, it's a...rally. Kinda like vaginal massage videos on youtube aren't porn, they're...instructional.
    There goes my afternoon.

If it is so easy to win, then WHY THE FVCK HAVEN'T YOU STEPPED UP? Easy to call from the bleachers, right? There were plenty of competent and motivated people involved in the 2013 fight. Tell me how we can beat a Democrat super-majority?

    Troll.

this is my last post on this forum. But real activism works. Showing up and talking to democrats who hate your existence on a pre planned date isnt activism. Its an assumption its 1987 and we still have some semblance of a real country left.

I suggest you read rules for radicals. And maybe some history books on how the gay rights movement succeeded. They didnt ask nicely. They demanded what they wanted relentlessly until they got it and ignored any semblance of decorum , politeness , and fairness. They goal was to win not to play fair.

Showing up with 30 people while they are eating dinner with their family members in a public resturaunt and asking why they pass bills that get people killed IN FRONT OF THEIR KIDS is effective activism.

driving by a democrat reps house and putting a sign in the street with whatever (non threatening) choice of words you have for the person , every day , for weeks straight , until police are called on you , and you get another person to switch off with you.... Is effective activism.

Disrupting every and any political event they have including positive ones. Is effective activism.

Calling said representatives homes in the middle of the night. Using burner phones. For weeks on end. Is effective activism.

You are dealing with human beings with real fears , real anxieties , and real desires to live normal lives.

You disrupt these things and you win. Thats real activism and thats why democrats beat the shit out of republicans in state politics without exception.

You haven't been paying attention have you? Your response actually contradicts itself. Maybe you should research Attorney General Frosh's ice cream social event. Or, our Maxine Walters "art" performance.

I for one don't need feel goods or participation trophies, although I do appreciate those that go out and attend public demonstrations supporting our Second Amendment.

The problem with old-school tactics is they have very little impact on current political operations. The wide community of 2A activists needs to supplement the tactics of the 1960's and 70's with actions and strategies more applicable to our time.

Unfortunately, the vast majority of today's gun media can be summarized by "look at this shiny new pewpew!"

Most of us own guns for leisure and defence, are skewed towards a conservative mindset, and generally like to avoid conflict whenever possible. While these traits may serve us well with family, friends, and co-workers, it does not translate to effective political tactics in 2020.

The reality is many of you (here at MDS and in the national 2A community) will be dead or dysfunctional before my son graduates high school. We need a new way of combating attacks on our rights, and the information provided by the OP is useful and appreciated. For those offended, you can take your ball and go home it's time for a new game anyway.

Some people have done a good job of helping the Democrats in power by misstating this event. It is NOT a protest. It is Lobby Day where ordinary citizens are speaking with their representatives in the state legislature about their concerns. It is NOT a protest, despite how much Governor Blackface wants to portray it. I suspect the OP of this thread is from the Bloomberg Moms group.

It's not a protest, so if anyone is going, don't think you're going to be chanting slogans and throwing your fists into the air, defying The Man. It's not a protest.

I'm going on a bus from the shore, with 40 some odd + of my friends. And we are going. This is hype, designed to scare us with words and rumors, and if we let them win with that, we deserve to be disarmed and enslaved.

We need to stop being *****'s, it's not always noble to back away, sometimes it's just... being a band of, well... bitches...

It's going to be cold, too, should we stay home for that?

The patriots that post here have homes, jobs and families too. We also have common sense, and do not adopt tactics that WILL land us in jail and cause us to lose said jobs, homes and families.

If you want to follow that path, more power to you. But don't expect us to join you.

    ETA:
The Capital layout reminds me of nothing more than a giant kettle. It's what I would design to contain potential rioters. It looks just like the Occupy Wall Street kettle layout. It IS a trap, IMO. Highly recommend only those visiting legislators enter and demonstrators remain outside, facing the news crews and outside agitators and agent provocateurs inside.

Live streaming the event is also an excellent activity, IMO.

You people are really adorable. You will talk about civil war like its nothing. Stockpile ammo and shit. But the second your 401k , your jerb , your family could be threatened by engaging in real activism and maybe having a visit to the police station you turn into pussies.

This is why i wont ever give a dime to local gun "activist" groups which are really just handouts to shitty rural lawyers who couldnt win a case to save their lives.

You and the rest who got nothing to lose: no job, no family, no life beyond the Internet and your own shitty attitudes should just go out and martyr yourselves if you feel that passionately about it. Go get 'em, tiger! :lol2:
