    Nice shooting by Mrs Frogman

Took the Astra 600 (Spanish Squirt Gun) out for its yearly shoot. I had forgotten that this shoots low.
Couple rounds fired and you know this is a blowback design.

My idea to shoot the Astra was I saw the thread on Iraqivet8888 and saw what I thought was an Astra in the back of him on the lower right

    C&R Range pics thread

Trying to breathe some live back into this thread.
    Had a Mosin day today.
Took my best 91/30 to the range with the Finn M39. The Russian 91/30 has a really clean bore and a clean muzzle. Shot surplus Russian 7.62x54r through it at 50 yards.
First target is the Russian 91/30. Second is the Finn M39. Then used my reloads with the finn (last target). I have JBweld on the Finn front sight to counter high shooting. Adjusted the elevation on the last round and hit the Red. the 91/30 shot pretty much right on with my reloads (sorry, no pic). Then started hitting steel at 100 yards.

Ok, someone else needs to make some posts to this thread other than me :)

I am saying goodbye to 2 C&R items I'm going to let go.
A Turkish Mauser and an Austrian Steyr M95

I am changing my concentration of Mausers to WWII , the Great War and then countries where I have a personal tie to (My family, my friends etc). I don't have any blood relation, nor friends from Turkey so off it goes.
Pounded some steel at 100 yards today. Almost finished my reloads on the Steyr but with about 4 left, the bolt came undone from the target so I'll pull those to sell the cases with the gun.

the Steyr shoots "ok" good enough to hit the steel at 100 yards (hits about 8" right, Never did drift the site to match my reloads), even offhand most the time for me. The Turkish I was 10 for 10 offhand at 100 yards. both were hitting within inches vertically @ 100 yards though. For those that know the M95, its a "stout" load for such a light rifle. I have some original WWII German ammo for it too that I think I shot 5 rounds of it just to chrono it and "feel the punch".

Now, need to find the steyr clip

I would post a picture of the target at which I aimed with my new to me Ethiopian Vz98N but I didn’t have one round that hit the target at 50 yards. The bore is basically fit for some pig iron scraps and nails.

K98 size? I have a great German barrel i could part with if you need it.

    UGLY DUCKLING II

I just went over this Fazarkerley No 4 last week(s) or so. Oak patched spacer into a new mk 2 surplus stock, fit bearing points correctly, re-fit butt stock from one I had on hand, adjusted trigger group and trigger sear bents/cocking piece face. Fit some hand guards. Re-cut crown tinned up striker threads and made sure bolt lift/cocking piece was right whole enchilada etc etc.
First time out after bore sighting and making initial site corrections (rested) on SR1 @ 100 yds. 10 rounds. First three are high and when I looked through the spotter scope I figured I would blow it but managed to hold it together and make some daylight in the target backer.
What I learned is that when fitting butt stock on these rifles, the more care taken to ensure the end of the stock is firm up against the bearings in the wrist socket, (face to face) minding the radial fit all the same time recoil and jump are more easily controlled in the rifle system.
Or at least so it seems.
Gap looks huge in picture, but really its not. Butt stock isn't supposed to be right up tight to socket anyway but its still a bit proud I think.

Been a while for this thread so getting the C&R range pics thread moving again.

To tag onto Doco it was 303Brit day

The No4MK1 was one of my first rifle purchases using my C&R.
2 groove Savage built Lend Lease gun

The No3mk1 just purchased from Mawkie and again using C&R.

The No3 shot the factory PPU 150g pretty well even though the No4 does not like that stuff (used reloads on No4). Got an idea on grouping at 50 yards and how the sights were then pounded steel 100 yards offhand about 10 shots from each gun. The few that missed the steel were entirely my fault

The steel torso target is new as I retired the old one due to some cracking. Did some remote paint removal on it

When the-yr stocked up right pretty tough to beat! Tons of fun working on them too because of the immense amount of engineering/development throughout the service history.
I just went over a bring-back LB the other day and finished off hitting all the bearing points that came together just so.
Maybe after deer hunting or during the day sometime next week I want to get it to the range and put it through some initial paces.
Maybe it was SG the other day that had reasonable surplus Z (poorly packaged non the less) but I thought about picking up a cent or two just for the hell of it.
The targets I Posted were with German 80's MEN which is pretty consistent spec ammo, shame theirs none to little or nothing to be found at this time.
Im scraping bottom of the barrel with only a few hundred rounds left and some HXP that I'm nursing along.
Soon I ll have to start hand-loading for them again just to stay afloat.

I purchased 500 rounds of .303 Brit from SGammo. Good stuff but Berdan primed.
I have given much of it to fellow .303 shooters than I have shot myself.

Great to see that I'm not the only one here who has a "theme" day. And nice to know that the Peddled Scheme No1 is a decent shooter. I have so much stuff that the vast majority never gets shot by me.

It was never cheap to feed a MG in the past. Wowzers, what it must cost to empty a couple of trommel mags these days!

Curious as to what your P.38 is... if something special you might not want to shoot it, or fit a 70's/80's "fat" slide to it.
The slides (and barrel lock blocks) have a tendency to crack.

Just a few from the Thread of Woe on the P.38 forum. The 480 was a $6k pistol before that fatal shot.
