Finished this a few weeks ago and was finally able to test it out yesterday, well over 100rds with no issues.

All stock 17 w/ Vickers slide, probably will change out a few things and use the stock on the build I’ll do for the one my wife will use, and a full on aftermarket build will be in the works for the 23 I want as a companion to the 2k.

Needless to say I’m very pleased with it, I hate to have favorites, but this one was just a pleasure to run some rounds through. My wife likes it so much she gave the go to get her one and she was well set on another ppq in the family.

    I’ll call that pistol McDonalds

    Cuz I’m lovin it
I took it out last week and ran some rounds through it. Feels a little more vulnerable to limp wristing than my factory 17, but that seems to be going away as I break it in. No other complaints, lock back was solid and consistent.

eta: there was also zero lube, which might not have been a great plan.

If I had gotten an FDE lower, that Vickers slide is nice. That's a good 1st range session.

It honestly just kind of fell into place with the color combo, had been planning on building one, and ended up getting a fantastic deal on the odg p80 which pushed the build date into the present time. I did have racking issues after initially building which required some Dremel time on the front and rear rails, so I was pretty confident that it was going to perform on the first go around.

Plans are tungsten guide, pyramid trigger, and thug plug to complete.

Wife’s will most likely be all Glock parts in robin egg but 23 I’m looking to be mostly aftermarket in tac or coy.

It’s not hand position. I had a feeling it was slide stop spring and i think your photo compared my theories. I would have fixed it on scene but didn’t have a small punch. It’s funny cuz when you kinda new movie shoot it (let it ride up) it’s great but when you shoot like a man the slide stop engages. It’s an easy fix i was just looking fir confirmation basically.

I didn’t even think to compare cuz this isn’t the 19 build which runs great. I was also sighting in an 80% rifle build and my buddy got the lower parts kit from hell and his BHP was having issues

After the range session tonight, I can say that after running 300rds through it and lubing it up, my P80 compact build is running like a top. No back-to-battery issues now, and no failures of any other kind. Time to get a comp and RMR for it, I guess.

My slide won’t lock back on the last round of P80 19 build. It’s not the magazines because they run fine in my factory Glock 19
What do you guys think the problem is ?

Check to make sure the spring is resting in the right place? I mean, it could be hand position, but you're enough of a shooter that I doubt that's the case.

I’m glad your 19 is running tops and i never thanked you for the link so that you for that!

She’s problem free now. I had the spring installed over the pin on that s build for some reason. I figured that was my issue but didn’t bring the small punch to the range to quickly fix it. I’m really surprised how accurate this new build is though. At 10 yards all my shots were in a baseball

Glad I could render some assistance. I bought a used TBRCi Stubby comp online, and am looking forward to mounting it up on my gun and seeing how it affects reliability... I've read that comps sometimes require reduced power recoil springs to function correctly, and I'll guess that mounting an RMR to the slide (adding weight) probably won't help, either.

Funny that you bring up accuracy... even at 10yds, I saw a substantial difference between 147gr FM and 115gr Wolf, and sad to say, the Wolf was better. Next test is to run my 160gr handloads through it - got a Lee Classic Turret yesterday and set it up to churn out faster than my single stage. (Don't get me started on my Loadmaster, which is a POS.)

Here it is with the TBRCi stubby comp. Looks great! Just need an RMR(-alike?) and I'll be set to operate like an operator at max operation-ness.

I need to swap the normal mag release from my G17 into this gun and put the extended release into the G17... total overkill.

    Finished my "Not-a-Glock" 17 today.

Slide and slide internals are all from Brownell's. Barrel is Glock.
LPK from Glock Store. (I'm a little ticked off. They did not include the magazine catch spring in the kit.)-

All holes lined up and are tight and straight.

Did a dry-fit of the rails and slide, and it was a little snug and dragging in a couple of spots.
A quick trip to NAPA and came back with some valve lapping compound and some of the "copper lube" (copper anti-seize) that Glock puts on their pistols.

After cycling the slide 100 times, cleaned and re-did the lapping compound two more times, 100 cycles each time.

Cleaned it up, put some "copper lube" on it as I assembled it, and it's as slick as snot on a doorknob.

Will probably take a trip to the range on Saturday, to see how it shoots.

    This could get addictive. :D

    (GRAY is next.) :innocent0

Saw on Instagram that Poly 80 is releasing the serualized 100% frames. They are cheaper than the 80% frames since no jig and tooling.
