I have a WW2 Walther PPK with brown Bakelite grips. I was going to buy an original magazine with the pinky grip extension but backed off until I saw how much it cost ($200+).

I decided to get a Mec-gar finger grip magazine instead. The pinky extension is black not brown. I tried painting the pinky extension with Testors military brown enamel paint. As you can see, I didn't match the color very well. The brown looks like poo. Anyhow, I am considering the following options. What do you all think?

    1. Removing the Testors paint and keeping the finger extension the original black.

    2. Trying to paint the magazine again. What color do you recommend.

    3. Stop being cheap and spring for an original Bakelite mag.

If I remember correctly, those grips are real fragile and yours look like they are cracked already.
