I picked my 8” Charger up from FFL over last weekend and now I’m considering “best-bang-for-the-buck” (pun intended) options for a really sweet crisp trigger.
I checked the Ruger website and all versions of the BX drop-in trigger are “Out Of Stock” - just as well I suppose as I understand these are very “hit or miss” as far as getting a really light pull and crisp break …
Checked MCARBO but, for $45+ theirs is basically just a replacement trigger (single metal part, no springs etc), one of which I just put in our PC-9 and while a vast improvement over the factory trigger (wow, that from factory was way too heavy!) trigger pull it isn’t anywhere near as light as I’d like for steel challenge …
I checked Volquartsen but, “aye carumba!,” their triggers cost as much as I paid for the Charger pistol itself!!!!!
I might even consider the Volquartsen except this will be a braced pistol which for now are not allowed in Steel Challenge - at least not sanctioned matches anyway.
What other options are there for a 2-lb-ish trigger upgrade for the Ruger Charger that I am missing?
Another question - for verification - is it 100% consistent across the board that any trigger upgrade listed for any Ruger 10/22 will also fit any Ruger Charger?
Asked another way, is the fire control group THE EXACT SAME in a Ruger Charger as it is in a Ruger 10/22?
(Reason I ask is the Volquartsen website calls out a long list of compatibility however glaring in its absence is the Charger …)
