Can't wait for Patrick's post with pdf-ey goodness about this suit. I hope it's out sooner rather than later.

Breathe deep. Timing matters to anyone who wants to take pieces of this on, and the list runs deep. Just saying that some things go faster if you time the first jump.

I'll note the following:Gun Control kills (elections). Hell, even Obama wouldn't go there until he literally had no more elections ahead of him. The funniest things I heard this last session were Democrats talking about how Gun Control was going going to be a good thing for O'Malley in 2016 because "Obama is talking about it, so it must be OK now."

I would always ask back, "Do you really think O'Malley is in Obama's league? Do you really think people will follow O'Malley like they did Obama?"

The answer was typically one that included an "Oh Sh!t" face. It was funny and sad at the same time, being there the moment they realized that a lot of what Dems got these last years is about the cult of Obama, and not about anyone else.

I'm ready to help you serve those people a healthy helping of crow. Who should be the first one we call to say "I told you so."

Oh, I'm absolutely aware of that. Doesn't mean I can't wait. Like Christmas morning. I notice NY didn't waste any time enforcing their new laws. I'm actually hoping MD proves equally zealous (provided the plan isn't to sue prior to 10/1 and seek an injunction preventing it from going into effect.)

IOW, I trust the assembled brain trust to do their thing to the best ability and thoughts of those involved.

(I also understand that in legal matters there can be several valid approaches to arrive at a desired goal.)

They are going to Tax Internet Sales REAL SOON, so no escaping the Pet Food Tax.

Democrats, helping America on the path to Socialism one election at a time.

Well actually I heard Franchot on the radio the other day explaining that you are suppose to pay the sales tax on purchase made that were not taxed (i.e internet sales, Purchases in Tax Free Delaware, etc.). Your suppose to submit a form quarterly with purchases for the quarter and pay the tax accordingly. It is the MD Consumer User Tax and you use form ST-118.

    I'll note the following:

    - O'Malley promised a Gun Control signing ceremony to all his Dem sycophants that would include Obama, so they could hobnob and get photos and feel important. He got nothing.

    Good.

Plan D? Not worth the hassle.

Colorado and New York got VIP visits. So did Connecticut and Delaware. Also, Michelle Obama was in Bowie today, and Obama was in Baltimore. This was not a "scheduling issue" - this is a deliberate avoidance of the signing.

O'Malley got nothing, which also happens to equal his standing in the latest New Hampshire poll on presidential contenders: 0%. Did you know that in that NH poll, newly elected Senator Elizabeth Warren actually scored higher than O'Malley and Cuomo combined?

And that cult is falling apart as we speak, or at least type :)

The signing falls in the middle of the muli- scandal....

All those things may be true, but they did score victories in several states, furthering their agenda. They lost out nationally (this time) but they didn't go home empty handed.

I think that despite their loss at the national level, the gun control side won more than our side did in the last few months. They danced in some blood to do it, and may well have pushed it too far. At the end of the federal push, they basically screamed "Newtown" about every 30 seconds. They brought in all the blood dancers. It looked like they were enjoying the carnage and it was quite distasteful. It didn't work. They oversold and they lost it.

I can respect someone who feels guns in the hands of people is a bad social idea. I can respect someone who says that the Second Amendment was a bad experiment and it is time to end it. I can respect people who honestly disagree.

What unnerves me about the people at the top of the gun control hierarchy is the abject joy they feel when they get a 'crisis' they can use to push an outcome that they cannot achieve using argument alone. The time around it was so blatant that we were not alone in noting it. They don't want to stop violence; they want to stop us. It's cultural. They have to stamp out cultures they don't understand or like. The dead victims of Chicago be damned.

And they don't mind (in fact rather enjoy) putting people in jail to do it. It doesn't matter how many families they destroy or how many criminals they create out of law abiding people. The sheer arrogance that they know what is best regardless of the facts is very disturbing.

Yep. They could solve this with education and opportunity for the poor. However, if they educate the majority of their voters, they might not be in power any longer. What they did to address the education system in PG County this past session is just criminal. From what I read, the only thing they did was appoint a CEO to oversee the PG County education system. I think they need a lot more than that.

I truly believe the liberal culture is to keep everybody married to big government (i.e., socialism) where people cannot possibly fend for themselves. Problem is when the government can no longer provide for the masses.
