My wife and I applied together on Sunday night, 10/21/13. She went active on Monday, 10/22/13. Her HQL arrived today, 10/27/13. Man that was Fast!

Mine didn't go active until Wednesday morning, 10/23/13. I am still waiting....

Well, I've gotten my HQL just so I'm ready when I find something I want. Problem is, my local store has nothing in stock and is waiting till more folks get their HQLs to stock up. And so the cycle begins- gun stores won't restock until the business (HQL holders) are there and folks won't get HQLs until they see something they want. Damn you MOM. Looks like I'll be turning to the auction sites...

I applied for mine on October 10th, thinking that it would take a long time to get it. It was completed within 24 hours, according to the MD Police website, and I received my card 15 days later.

I got my HQL number less than 26 1/2 hours after applying.

10/15 checked site had HQL number (expires 10/14/2023)
10/26 license arrived in mail

Posting a copy from the other "received HQL thread" since this is the official thread...

I just received my card, and my last name is misspelled, anyone else have this issue?

The letter that came with my card has the correct spelling but not on the card itself. Do the cards show an abbreviated last name on purpose by any chance?

1. Date Applied: 10/12/13
2. Date it went Active: 10/14/13
3. Date Card was Received: 10/28/13
4. HQL Training Exempt due to previous purchase.


Update: Contacted the HQL division up in Pikesville about my problem. My last name is spelled correctly in their system, but apparently some computer filter had a glitch and filtered out a few letters in my name when the card was printed. MSP's explanation of the glitch wasn't in depth, almost seems like someone could be hand typing these and fat fingered it. If it's really all automated and its a computer glitch and you have a "NMI" sequence in your name you might have the same problem as me. MSP asked me to mail the incorrect license back to have it destroyed. They would send out a correct version today.

HQL Active with # 10/25 6:00p
Card received: Still waiting

All in all, less than 24 hours to submit and go active, even with a call to help find training info in their database.

I applied on 10/1 and it was approved on 10/8 and received in the mail on 10/19. I just with my Wear and Carry permit was that fast!

I received mine today after only a few days. While I am glad to receive it, it still seems wrong that I need a license to exercise my right!

No ND paperwork - FFL would not do an 8th day release.

Presented HQL - FFL released (still no ND paperwork).
