I was doing some initial case prep on some 223 range pickups and as I was resizing I had what I thought was a 223 case that felt real light as it traveled toward the top of the stroke during sizing. This case is the same side as a 223 case measuring .35 OD at the shoulder and .37 at the head, tha measurement from the rim to the start of the shoulder on the odd case is 1.27 where the 223 is 1.44 I can't really get an OAL measurement as the odd case neck was resized and I'm sure it grew a little. The shoulder angle looks to be the same as the 223 also and the odd case headstamp is PPU 223.
You can see in the photo where the top part of the neck was sized down to 22 but there's no way the shoulder was reformed on anyway since the case length to the shoulder is shorter. I have no idea what this is and it's going in the scrap bin or to one of the Blackout reloaders in our group.
First picture showing the sizing of the neck only
Second picture from the left for comparison
    300 Blackout, ? Case, 223, 6.8SPC, 25-45 Sharps.

You sure it's not a 222 like the one between the 300BLK and 223 below?

Could be, it's been reformed from a 223 case if it is. Only thing I could see it not being the 222 case is the fact that when it came out of the 223 die the neck had been squeezed down to .22 ID and you'd think it would have already been that size.

Neck expansion when it was fired could possibly have cased that.

had a couple of .222 brass mixed in with some .223 range brass recently, they felt weird resizing and then one got stuck in the die. after that I went through the lot to weed them out.

You're probably right on the 222 case. It gave me a starting point to check and the measurements seem to be on point, I guess the neck being sized threw me off.
    Left 222, right 223

I say 222. I ran one through a 223 sizing die. The partially sized neck looks a lot like your case.
