Its possible Barrett had the Texas case, which was a DIG, which would put Thomas on NY Guns and Sotomayor on Austin.Looks like you are correct.

They are done for the day. On the supreme court website, they note when they are done by numbering the opinions.5 opinions in one day. I guess a sixth is unlikely
The alternative could be that the Chief is not in the majority and Thomas assigns it to himself. That would be wild.
