It’s not the logging on. It’s the hitting refresh every few seconds. If everyone doing that relaxed by 50%, the web servers hosting the blog could handle the load.
FYI, we are getting some reports that SCOTUSblog may be lagging or failing to load for some users, due to the heavy traffic. We are working on fixing the issue.
