Very new to guns and shooting...but amazed by all the things there are to learn. Interesting stuff.
So far shot a .22, 40 and 45 to realize I'm not a handgun fan.
Shot ARs and the love affair has begun.
.223 started it and a sig .308 patrol yesterday that is still rattling my jaw.
Thanks to the TMGN guys, especially Bob for being patient with me.
They had a DD MK18 and now all I want a DD AR. Gotta convince the significant other that it's a necessity (it's not) so hopefully down the road I get to own or build one.
    Rentals are not that great!
    Anyways...
Thanks for letting me in. Looking forward to learn as much as possible.

    Haha
Already $400 in. Safety class and 3 trips to the range, between renting guns and buying range ammo. Setting aside another 200 for HQL.

A decent AR can be had for 600-1000 bucks. You don't have to go high value like DD.

But it's your money do what you wish.

    I agree.
Aero for 600, m&p, stag, all will do the job.
Living in MoCo, I have some convincing of significant person to do b4 I can buy anything that goes "bang".
DD will be a long term dream but in my few weeks of shooting, DD was love at first pull.

My first AR was a DPMS I still shoot it all the time and it has gone through lots of changes since I first bought it

DD is a pipe dream. The m&p wasn't bad. I'm sure it will do the job while I'm learning...
Gonna have to since a friend owns one and at $67 rental with ammo, I'll be paying for a few by the time I'm done.

    Welcome.

Don't worry, we'll introduce to more recreational bang-bang than you have ever imagined.

I'm out of the loop on renting rifles. I'm guessing (hoping) the quoted $60-somthing is inclusive of range time, rifle rental, a goodly quantity of ammo, targets and taxes ?

    35 for the gun
    32 for ammo
    Eyes n ears, 4
    Plus range time.
    That's almost 100.
6 trips and I could have stopped at engage for a ruger 556, but so far owning is "completely off the table"

The learning of it has been the most fun.
Today Co worker even asked my opinion on barrel twist. Go figure.

    Hi there.

Go buy a stripped AR15 lower and wait the 7 days to pick it up. Pick up the parts you want for your build. Because the parts come in over time the SO won't have a chance to ask why they are for, nor will it raise suspicion.

You want your HQL? Become training exempt. Go take the Texas Hunter Safety Course online.
