    So I buy a Nikon scope for my AR and it comes with the P-233 mount, I'm all happy until I go to assemble the mount "no fit" what's the chances of buying a mount specifically designed for an AR just to find out my rail is just a bit to big %#*&#%& and it won't work. Since it was a package deal and a good price I won't send it back just look for new 1 inch rings.

    Are to trying to mount the rings onto the rail from the top? If you are, trying sliding the rings on from either end of the rail.

    Just as Boom Boom recommended;

    You must seperate your upper from the lower, remove the BCG and charging handle, and slide them on from the rear of the rail.

    When I saw it was a slide on and not a pinch clamp I thought wow quality but when I tried to slide it on from the rear it just wouldn't go. I broke the AR down to just the upper no BCC, CH or lower and it just will not budge. Neither ring will go on so I have to assume I have a top rail that is out of spec. I'm going to have to go with the pinch type mounts.

    Zib., What are the chances, that stuff usually happens to me. Honestly, you are the first person I have heard from that has been unable to get your mount to slide over your picatinny rail.
    I know that doesn't help you in anyway. Do your best to not use a hammer by the way. The M-223 XR is a 3 piece AR mount that should fit, though with your width being off you may need something special.

    Now that I have the mount installed and the scope attached it's tough sighting with the scope so low do you have this issue? What's your prefered distance for shooting?
