But not for lack of trying...

I've been trying to "log on" for a month now, but kept getting "Database Error" messages, and unable to post, or stay logged on...

Tried literally dozens of times and had been emailing back and forth with "Norton" and "Paul". Even emailed them back a video of what was happening, but never got it resolved.

Was only able to actually "join" today due to giving up on trying to sign in with my original user name and making up a new one, and a new email address...

    Anyway...enough crying.

Finally here and looking forward to being a contributing member.

I'm a fairly new shooter, as I hadn't fired anything in about 30 years, until early December when I picked up 2 tactical shotguns (a Norinco and a Stevens 320 from a friend) and headed on the 10 minute journey to Freestate Gun Range, (which is also midway along my drive to or from work, so that's awesome)..:D

Next day I traded in the Norinco on a (gasp!) HiPoint 9mm carbine, which me and my 2 sons love shooting BTW. Been through about 1350 rounds and over a dozen trips to the range...enough times, where I actually joined. I also joined the NRA.

Have my HQL class this Thursday and my Utah CCW class Saturday, so I guess one could say I am enjoying myself. :lol2:
Already decided on my 1st handgun, which will be a Springfield XD9, mainly due to ammo sharing. Two friends have tried talking me into a Glock, but the finger grooves and my fat hamhock fingers aren't a good match.

My other "hobby" is drag racing and cruising my old 71 Chevelle, hence the user name.

Welcome from BQ! Springfield is a good choice.

I really like the fit and feel of it.

Thanks guys. I'll have to do some reading on the MSI. I honestly had not ever heard of it before.

BQ is literally just up the street from me. You're not the guy who keeps beating me to the Walmart and buying up all the 9mm Federal aluminum, are you? :D

No, but perhaps we will run into one another there or at Freestate.

    Greetings!

My sister lives in Ceciltucky. By the gravel pits. I frequent the dragstrip about once a month.

Howdy. Can't go wrong with the Springfield. I love my xdm:D

I "think" the matched barrel versions are near $100 more expensive. I'm hoping to catch one on sale, maybe a little closer to the standard XD's price. Wish me luck.

Welcome. Impressive that you've gone all in quickly. Wonder if your Utah permit will process quicker than your HQL (used to be the opposite of course), but good move not the dawdle.

Dave, thanks for the links...I worked at "the Point" from 97 until the last crook bankrupted us for good.

I'll be sure to update the status of both the HQL and the CCW. It was coincidence that I was able to sign up for them only 2 days apart.
