You'll never see it in the US. The trade agreement with Russia bans firearms exports to the US.

    http://tcc.export.gov/Trade_Agreements/All_Trade_Agreements/exp_005371.asp

Does it ban or restrict licensing or designs? I could see some company license the patents and work on the design some more.

That would be Chad's good buddy Chuck Rogers
    He will be along soon........

I thought that is who you meant. Did you send Chuck an email or PM him on 1911forum?

BTW, I doubt that any gunsmith will deride a new concept until either they or an independent group evaluate the design. This design may be revolutionary or just junk. Testing will tell us which this gun is.

    Chad,
I don't know who or what MyAiry is. And I don't care.
Why is he my 'fanboy'? No idea.
I make no claims to being a 'gunsmith'. I am a 1911 smith.
    I do not 'troll' gunboards.
I have made several public statements stating that I am impressed with your
    knowledge in general.
I do not offer technical advice here because I do not participate here. This is my 3rd post.
What the heck is your problem?

No idea or in depth knowledge here. But, (speculation here) Mt. Airy is a fan of your smith work. I haven't seen it nor do I know what to look for so I cannot comment on your quality or lack thereof. Where do you offer technical advice? I'm interested in 1911s and am looking for as many informed opinions as possible.
Mt. Airy attempted to bring you into this fight by stating you'd be around to set Chad straight either through personal or professional means. Aside from that I don't know and I don't care.

I want to apologize again and I sincerely mean that. The board can use every Smith that it can, the more the better in my opinion.

Okay, let's stick to a discussion of the subject matter at hand, the new pistol out of Russia. It's no fun to start a thread about something you want to discuss and have it hijacked by other folks' drama.

I'll hold off on any comments on the gun till I either see one one or shoot one. Just because it has a "NEW" lockup system doesn't automatically make it better than JMB's 1911 design. We'll see what time has to tell and we'll see if it's still around AND still popular after 100 years.

    Back in MD sadly
We might be able to get it and more Russian Firearms previously banned because since Russia has recently joined the world trade organization previous treaties are null and void including firearms related treaties.
