My name is Chuck Spafford, and I am currently serving on ADOS with the MD Army National Guard. I work for the Counterdrug Task Force as a Drug Demand Reduction Specialist. We go to schools and community organizations and teach kids, and parents, about the harmful effects of drugs and alcohol. (shameless plug) Check out our website for more information.

I own a few shotguns, a few pistols, and my baby - a Rock River Arms First Responder M-4, loaded with all the cool toys any Soldier would like to have on his issue weapon. I love to go to just about any range and spend the day getting my guns dirty, only to head home and spend the evening cleaning them...lol

I've been shooting trap, wobble trap, and sporting clays at PG County for about a year or so, and truly love the sport. I am new to hunting, however, and recently was bitten by the duck and goose hunting bug. Hopefully I can get some information from local hunters on waterfowl hunting in MD. I do plan on doing some deer hunting and turkey hunting, as well.

Welcome Chuck. I see the Counterdrug Task Force is headquartered at the Fifth Regiment Armory. What ever became of the .22 cal rifle range in the basement? Is it still there? Is it used for shooting? We used to shoot there until 1985. My understanding is that all the armory indoor ranges were closed down after 1985.

    Welcome aboard!

I just want to mention that the Associated Gun Clubs of Baltimore, located in Marriottsville, MD has public trap Wednesday evenings from 6PM-9PM and on Sat/Sun from noon-4PM. The non-member fee is $5.00 per round.

They closed all the ranges in all the armories. Most of the ranges became the fitness centers for the armories because they couldn't be used for anything else.
