Hi all, from Jefferson. I'm a MoCo refugee, now living in Frederick County for the last 5 years. Retired from the Navy (Surface Warfare) 19+ years ago (I do have a few miles in my wake). Lived in a lot of different places throughout my life due to parental job changes and the Navy career, but have lived in Maryland for almost 16 years.

I'm here to enjoy discussions on matters relevant to firearms with somebody other than family. I have a few shotguns, handguns, and a couple other long guns. Still working as a gummint contractor, and the kids are all grown.

I'll get around to posting an appropriate profile image at some point. Looking forward to getting to know the members here, and hopefully in person.

Welcome! In no particular order:

1) Users here named "Bob [x]" are generally erudite, thoughtful, and worldly. You've chosen wisely.

2) Glad you evacuated from Montgomery County (I haven't yet!) but alas, MoCo is chasing you right up 270 and you can't really escape (insert recording of Hotel California here).

3) Lots of firearm discussions here, from the weapons to the ammo to their use and - very heavily - the swirl of legislation, litigation, and general Maryland hoopla that surrounds them. You'll see more of the latter as you get past the 50-post gate and can see the Water Cooler forum. It is dedicated to sober, insightful discourse and absolutely no schadenfreude, shenanigans, shifty characters, or such. That last part is an enormous lie, but I had to try.

This is a wholly unique place that can bring surprising value to the time you spend on it. Enjoy!

Oh, and: join Maryland Shall Issue if you're not already a supporter. They're the principle advocate for us 2A-mindful people in Maryland, and deserver any and every penny we can lob that direction.
