"the National Rifle Association will lead the overall legal effort against the measure that was proposed in January by Gov. Martin O’Malley"

Looks like the big boys are getting ready for a fight. I'm so glad to see that we are on their radar, and they will be coming in to help.

Glad I didn't pay to attend the event at Blob's Park because this isn't the way I feel about the issue. If this is really how we think the majority of this state's citizens feel about SB281, it just isn't worth staying here.

Instead of taking two bites at the apple and trusting out fellow Marylanders on this subject, we are trusting it completely to the Courts.

Thing is, what IF the Courts uphold this BS? I don't want to come back and say "I told you so", but guess how the Maryland politicians are going to feel about gun control after that? Hopefully, we have some effect at the voting booth in 2014.

Would love to hear the "Big Boys" come up with a plan for the 2014 election because I am guessing this issue will not be before SCOTUS until well after that. Just look at how long Woolard is taking, and how long Heller took.

The news on this issue just gets worse and worse in my eyes. Time to take out a home equity line for more guns, or just sell the house and move.

You can't be serious. There just aren't enough republican voters in MD to overturn it in referendum. People are not smart enough to understand what they are voting for. Most will not read nor understand the question. I would be written in such a way that their eyes glazed over after the first few words. They would end up voting according to which TV commercial they like most. If they were stupid enough to pass the dream act and to gerrymander a mostly republican AA County to make it totally ineffective, what could possibly make you think you could trust MD voters?

We wouldn't stand a chance with a referendum.

The referenced article is somehat wrong in what it says, that is, "Those who have been involuntarily committed to a mental health facility won’t be allowed to have a gun." They left out that it also includes voluntary commitment over 30 days.
They left out other things as well.

Back to waiting on people in stupid looking black robes to tell us we have rights that we already know we have.

Or to limit the rights we have with some imaginary ink they see written on the Constitution.

*** Bombing - bomber blamed. Shooting - gun blamed. Benghazi - nobody blamed. ***
