Does anyone here do it? I'd like to get a block of wood and turn it into a stock for a rifle of mine. I'd like to get the straight scoop - how hard can it really be?

MidwayUSA has some videos on how to do it. I've made a couple when I was in gunsmith school. It's time consuming to do it properly... and for me getting the finish right was the hardest part. If you're good with wood and have all the tools (planer, mill, rasps, files, etc) it should be an interesting project.
