It doesn't have the visual appeal of your 597 in that wood stock, but it'll do just fine for what I'm using it for.

Yes it is, compared to my truck, the .50 is quiet.

Brimstone gunsmithing did their "basic" work to my wife's 10/22 trigger assy. It' much nicer than stock about $40

Brad if you run the top of your strap so the tail is on the outside and flip the friction clasp so the flat portion faces the stock it's easier to adjust while slung up. If youre going todo an applesee it might be helpful. It's not "correct" but it woks for me I run all my GI slings that way.

The T.H.O.R. looks interesting. The Bowers VERS is out, I got loads that are exceeding 2200fps easily (for the .50 Beo). The AAC definitely has the strength, but at 15" and 4+ lbs., wow.

I have a few of the targets they use for the Appleseed shoot and I can show you how to set up your sling if you want. I did the shoot in marriotsville 2 weeks ago. It's a great class and a super good deal for the level of instruction that you receive.
