Totally agree. He has fluffed himself up more than a wild turkey decoy.

I have had the occasion to listen to his drivel on the sidewalk as well as his over-inflated persona the radio, and you are right, I couldn't take more than a few minutes of either one. Ugh.

John: thanks again for joining our Patriot Picket Army on Tuesday at Lawyer's Mall. You were a big part of a very successful event!
I remember him from my days at BPS, never thought of him as overly personable and kind of a d bag.

    Yup, he's a tool.

A big thanks for being out there; excellent stuff as always.

The MHC is utterly clueless and unable to see the big picture.

When we arrived, we approached MHC Executive Director Allan Ellis and the MHC people to see if they were open to adding a Long Gun Transfer protest to their agenda. Nope!

Instead Ellis declared: "You are NOT staying on the sidewalk! You are not going to hijack my rally!"

It was at that moment that a Maryland Capitol Police Sgt approached to ask Ellis who he had called about, and who he wanted ejected from the block.

It was clear that the MHC had dropped a dime on us before we even had a chance to deploy at Lawyer's Mall to "educate" the MHC. Of course, we remember there was last year's run-in with them. And then this morning at our rush-hour Rowe Blvd sign-waving, this Ellis guy rolled past us with his iPhone hanging out the window photographing or videoing us as he headed for the Statehouse. Ellis knew we were coming and had called the Maryland Capitol Police to make sure we were pushed off the Mall if we showed.

With the MCP Sgt. waving us to move on, Ellis muttered that we were "hurting his relationship" with MGA Democrats! We told him his Deer Management agenda wouldn't do much good if Long Guns were stripped from his members because they misunderstood the proposal we are all up against.

With that we were pushed across the street, but the torment continued: our signs are big enough to be read from space, and the ejection only pushed us from one side of that very busy intersection to the other side. The MHC spent two hours watching our friendly legislators stop to cheer us on, while listening to the horn honks and seeing the thumbs-up from motorists reacting to this:

It's unconscionable their indifference to any gun related issue.

Was he taping you guys to show and cry to Mike Miller?

Who cares if he taped us! Miller has seen our "Mike Miller Is A Sellout" sign, which is back for it's second year-- a little tattered but still bringing the heat.

We may have a some video of Ellis captured on the Go-Pro that HRDWRK was generous enough to lend us, but it requires some tech download and transfer that's above my pay grade. We will be working with EL1227 to see if we can bust that video into the open.

Our fellow MDS'ers who are IPs dealing primarily with the hunting sportsman need to ask hard questions of MHC's membership who may frequent their business. Why does it seem that MHC Executive Director Ellis have such a cozy relationship with the anti-2A DemocRATs in the MD GA that he would think that our presence would queer it ? Is he THAT insecure in his leadership position at MHC or are his actions akin to a quid quo pro relationship with the gun-grabbers in Annapolis for support of SB 948 ?

MHC and the hunting community in MD deserve better ... their 2A rights are at stake.

I loved it! There was a time before my wife became disabled, that I went with AGC every year to the State House and beat our drum. Now that I am retired, I have more time to do more.

Let me know whenever you have picket and I'll try to be there.

Based on your pic, the sidewalk is much more desirable than the mall/square area that they occupied (and were probably ignored in).

As per his "rally"? Lol, if the numbers in the pic are accurate, it's about what MDS routinely pulls to HPRB meetings.

And what an insecure tool, calling the capital police ahead of time. Looks like he's chosen to ally himself with those that want to take away hunter rights vs those fighting for the hunters and everyday citizens. If I were a member of that organization, I would (1) be ashamed and (2) seek to change leadership.

I counted 17 heads with MHC, but they were milling around a little, and could have been another 1 or 2 getting blocked. So say up to 20 .

I'm a hunter. Their deer management and hunter access ideas are worthwhile, I'm not knocking them for what they do with that. I'm knocking them for what they DON'T do also .

O'Malley in 2013 played the card of " We will leave alone your shotguns and traditional spirting rifles, we're only after those handguns and Evil Rifles. " And in the inevitable We Told You So , they are back for all shotguns, all rifles, Plus all Muzzleloaders .

Heck I like blue steel and walnut. But it's not about one person's personal preferences, it's about everbodies Rights.

    ***************

Don't over extrapolate from one honcho from one group. Hunters are the traditional defenders of gun rights . We need to pull together, not be manipulated by the anti's . Using that F word is highly offensive and divisive.

I don't use that F word, and when Ellis brought it up with me this morning I told him that word is not part of my posts or my vocabulary. But I did tell Ellis that our presence was representative of the anger and the disillusionment out there, and that he would be wise to understand it, and even work with it.

Again, a high-five to my good friend biggfoot44 from way down derr in Southern MD, who stood in the mixed rain/snow blizzard with us thing morning. You are a Patriot sir!

    Recycled ...

Look what I unearthed from the DemocRATs 2016 legislative push for a long gun registry. At least Sen. John Astle got it back then. Let's hope he's maintained his sage and sane position in 2017.

I've written to Senator Astle in the past and he's always seemed to be reasonable on gun issues...maybe it's the Marine in him. From what I remember he voted against SB281.
