Venison or beef can be stuck in ball jars and canned and have a 2 year use, some have said 4. Mom used to can fruits and I know I ate some 5 years old. I still got some stewed tomatoes she made in 2015 and I'm still eating them and not puking.

Home canned meats have shorter spans due to the lower cooking temp.

Home canning works best with things that are acidic. Which is why you see things like corn and tomatos.

There’s a new show on the History Channel called “Eating History”.

Fun to watch. Oldest thing they tried was hard tack from the 1880s I believe.

Don't know if Walmart still sells this.

Walmart still sells the Great Value beef. Though i suspect not all carry it. Kroger grocery stores also sell canned beef.

I was at a WalMart in Idaho Falls two years ago and they had an AMAZING prepper section. I guess because there’s a lot of LDS there.

Pickled hearts here, who wants to bet I can test the effective storage life on this one? Pickle meat, pickle eggs. Vinegar does the work for you.

you can water glass eggs in hydrated lyme for almost 8 months without cooking if you get them right from the chickens butt.

From my perspective you need to be prepared with some food and how to save more or you are just going to live a while longer than some others.

Rapa now makes a Hot&Spicy scrapple. It's better than the scrapple with bacon, IMO.

Not sure who paid of whom, but it 'seems' to be Kosher for Passover. :D

Wonder how it tastes on matzo?

I bought another pack at 7:00 this morning.
FWIW- Pikesville grocery stores are DEAD at 7:00am on the first day of Passover. There might have been 5 customers at the supermarket.

I don't think you are supposed to reuse those lids for canning..

Grabill is 100% good to go. Tastes the same as Keystone, which is also yummy!
