My LGS got in a Remington Rand 1911A1 on consignment from a lady that tried to take it to the local police to destroy. Lucky for me the officers told her it's actually collectable and she could get some money for it. No magazine, but that's okay.

What? You should give it to me. The woman obviously wanted it to be destroyed and I promise to shoot that thing until blows up or I die trying (hopefully in about 50,000 rounds and 60 or 70 years)

Needed a new barrel and bolt. Bolt would shut with ease on a no go gauge. Also got it glass bedded, national match trigger job, and new boyds stock

Picked this up over the weekend from a gun shop. A non-matching No.4 Mk.1 with an excellent barrel (only reason I jumped it really). Stock I think is refinished, the bolt doesn't match the receiver, and I'm willing to bet the stock is a throw-on too. Still looks nice, feels nice, and shoots nice.

If they are both 1977 as the post indicated they are on 41 years old so they wouldn't be C&R.
