I picked up my first Type 2 today. I'm pretty excited about her. All matching (bolt, receiver, bayo mount and both halves) and the mum only has a couple small cuts on it.

What do you think? Does anyone know what the lettering says on the back of the sling?

Markings? "Die Yankee pig-dog?" That's a truly awesome find... must resist Japanese rifles ... must resist ....

The last big Japanese acquisition that I don't have. Outstanding! So many have mis-matched front n rear halves so it's nice to see a matching example. If you post over on GB in the Japanese forum they'll not only tell you what the kanji script means, they'll give you the complete skinny on your Para. That's where Fred H. and Don V., the authors of my Japanese reference books, reside.

Beautiful gun, I'm extremely jealous...one of these is on my short list but they have been really hot recently and prices seem to be on the rise. I recognize a few of the kanji on the slings as numbers, but im also curious to know what the others mean as well. Looks to me (although im no expert) like there is a one, three, and nine among them, so maybe a rack or unit number? "一" = 1, "三" = 3, "九" = 9
