Re: Senator Stone (MY Senator, BTW)

It's not like he supported the bill and was LOOKING for "disqualifiers". He voted against the bill - both in committee and on the floor. Why would he lie?

Plan D? Not worth the hassle.
How many seats do we realistically need to flip in order to kill bills in the GA?

As far as the # of non-voters being 40-60%- I am somewhat split in my opinion of that. On the one hand, we all know the vast majority of people would prefer to simply bitch rather than get up and make even a token effort to fix a problem.
On the other hand, it is baffling that someone would make the effort to call or write or testify and not bother to be registered to vote. That doesn't really make sense to me.

I also doubt the numbers but frankly it makes no difference. We need 100% or as close as practical like 95% or better. Most don't register or vote in MD because they think it makes no difference, so our task it to make them believe that it can. Many who have moved or not voted in a few cycles may have been dropped from the rolls ( esp if they are not democrats ;) ) so they may 'think' they are registered, and we need to get them to confirm.

Bottom line we must make an impact in 2014. It does not need to be a landslide although we can try for that, but if there is no change at all in the mga we will have no credibility any longer.. I think we all know what that means ...

In this state of Maryland, it is a simple matter of the "liberal" anti-rights crowd being brainwashed to vote party-line. And their numbers in Prince Georges and Montgomery Counties, combined with Baltimore City, are enough to out-vote any reasonable voters in the other parts of Maryland.

It's the same problem in the Northeastern parts of the country. Get rid of the automatic brainwashing (Civics and a real education might have helped in the schools 25+ years ago) and you might stand a chance.

But as it is, I think it's too late and due to the lack of a proper education, and liberal brainwashing, the end for our previous form of government is near.

Welcome to the new socialism comrade!

300,000 plus rep vote for POTUS but 1,000 on issues

pg county election 2012 - 300,000 plus repubs voted but when ppl voted on the issues gay marriage, dream act ... it was only about 1000 plus
it was about 1000 plus for md politicians too
someone can ask their local politician on the stats - and i am talking about pg county stats
this may be good when we get it on a referendum
