I love my P226, but I'm starting to realize it might not be the perfect gun for me.

I want to like the Glock 19, but that grip puts me off. I always want to aim too high due to the grip angle. Does anyone else have any experience with getting used to the grip angle?

Funny, I had to adjust in the opposite way. I went from years of being used to Glocks, and had to adjust to the Sig's grip angle and sight picture. Even after a couple of thousand rounds through the Sig, I still shoot the Glock better.

Can't say I do. I like the Glock. I think it shoots very well for a simple pistol. I actually shoot it better than pistols with a closer to vertical grip. If you do not have a Gen 4 there are places that can modify a Gen 3 grip.

    get a m&p???

you could always look in to grip reductions for the glock if you're not planning on eventually selling it. Cutting down the hump makes a pretty big difference. Otherwise, concentrate on driving your support hand thumb along the side of the g19 and it should help drop the front sight down.

There's a ton of good handguns out there. Get something that fits, that you'll be happy with.

Besides, Glocks are ugly, unsafe, cheap pieces of crap who's only redeeming virtue is their reliability. (When they aren't blowing up of course.)

I've shot the Glock 19 and I liked it. My only problem is when doing any type of fast work in which I don't have time to get a full sight picture (ie holster draw at close range...I will not take time to get a full sight picture because it is not necessary). In this case I naturally "point shoot" high because of the angled grip.

For those of you who experienced this, is it easy to adjust to?

You are shooting high solely because you are used to a different grip angle. Shoot as many rounds through the Glock as you have your Sig, and let us know if you still have that problem. :)

Started out with Glocks, forget everything and just grip it and rip it - it worked well for me...

If you werent interested in a G19 I'd say get a Gen 4 with the differen backstraps.

I think the large will greatly change the grip angle even the small helps.

However my G19 and a lot of others put brass in your face which isnt really fun.

I wish to hell Glock would correct that. I was thinking of getting another one, but don't want to have the disappointment of having to send another one back to fix that problem.

had bad luck with m&p's in the past? I mentioned it because it's similar to a glock in design, but with a more sig-like grip angle. I fail to see why it gets a "god no" reaction.

Shot them, never owned one. It gets a "god no" because I don't like them. I wouldn't buy anything S&W anymore.

I picked up a Glock this year, have not noticed any trouble with the grip angle or ergonomics at all. This is a Gen4 G26.

From what I can tell, the whole "grip angle" thing is a way overblown case of "this gun is mildly different from the gun you were shooting for the last two years". Mine pointed very well for me, and it shoots with surprising accuracy (considering the size), which is the only thing that matters, ultimately.

I suspect that some trigger time with one would make it very familiar and natural feeling to you as well. Maybe a couple of boxes at a rental range would help out?
