According to Gemtech, All game animals are legal to hunt with a suppressor in MD and PA. Is this true? I've done a search here and on the net. Not much is coming up. I'd love to be able to use this over having muffs on. What are the reg's?

If there isn't a law against it then its legal. As far as I know MD doesn't regulate use of suppressors in hunting. Unfortunately, for me most of the areas I hunt you can't use a rifle to hunt large game so it is a moot point for me.

Maybe not - I believe Silenerco just put out a shotgun silencer....but I am not sure if a slug could be used

No one told you it was illegal right?

I wonder if that would hold up in court, Swinokur told me in not so many words it was fine. Sir do you care to elaborate as to who Swinokur is? I read it on the internet so he couldn't lie about it.:D

It was humor. You missed it. Maybe I should have used an emoticon.

And like most laws, if it's not prohibited, it's allowed.
You read it here on the Internet.

Do realize that a high powered rifle with a supersonic round will not be quiet, it will just be quieter. Without suppressor around 160 dB, with suppressor about 130 dB.

and exposure to 130dB momentarily is a lot bloody better than 160dB. you oughta see what momentary exposure to 20 pounds of potassium chlorate about 8 feet away does.

hint: you get tinnitus for the rest of your life. from one single momentary incident.

dropping sound pressure by 30dB is a good thing.
