One thing you can do is look for a preserve in NC. The ones up here can provide you everything some even guns. My brother started me out this way, alot easier on ya cuz your pretty much guaranteed you'll get into something.
Get yourself an extremely comfortable pair of boots and a good pair of pants, you will be thankfull you did!

Good luck and have fun!! I just got released today from Dr. to start again!:party29:

As it turns out, there is a preserve not far from me. About a 25 minute drive.

    Take a Hunter Safety Course.
You already have the most expensive part, the Hunter Safety course will clue you in on the requirements. If it's just blaze orange, you can find that cheaply enough.

If a guy named Cheney calls with an invite... walk away.

I'm curious to know if anyone actually uses the Dove fields provided by Myrtle Grove. I know they seed them, but, I never hear of anyone using. I spoke with Danny Estevez once abut 2 years ago and he said I could them for Crow, but, I never have. I might have to give the Crowing hunting a shot down at MG sometime. My dad used to hunt tree rats there just off of 225 on the gravel road, but, I don't know how many guys actually hunt that property today.

    Your prices look real reasonable!

A little wisdom I learned..stay away from pheasant and use Chukar...way less expensive and to me they taste better. Don't waste time with Quail just yet..they some crafty little buggars and not much to eat. Hone everything in on the larger birds.

    Just my .02

Some pics here if you have A FB

These are NOT required but if you're going to spend a lot of time in the field then they will be invaluable to your comfort.
