An update: we butchered the doe this morning ourselves and just finished a dinner of blackstrap’s seared in bacon grease and finished off on the grill with a side of potatoes and fresh asparagus. Got a bunch more to enjoy and my son is feeling quite “manly”.

I think he is hooked. TD

Does the rest of the family like venison?

That goes a long way to the good feeling of being a contributing member of the family.

If hooked, I suggest Bow and or Muzzle loader next. 2 more passions.
