HQL Process update

My HQL is finally active! So the question is, can I go and apply to purchase a handgun and just go in when I physically receive my card?

Thank you all for keeping me sane during the process!

Everywhere I have seen, they will not let you fill in paperwork until you have the card in hand.

Well, I put it off long enough... Just got fingerprinted and submitted my application today. I was looking for traing classes (since I moved here after the ban), but because I purchased an AR lower a few months ago, I'm apparently training exempt. Hope this goes through without a hitch!

Did mine on the 5th December

Did mine on the 5th at Gilberts in Rockville - so far only the mental health check is showing completed - still plenty of time to go if it takes 30 days.

I will let everyone know when I receive the card.

My 30th day falls on the fourth of Jan. I bet I don't see my card until mid Jan at the earliest. I wish I had just caved and done this sooner. Total bs on msp's part.

The max is 30 days. With the holidays I really wonder if we will see some people get pushed past that.

I've seen reports stating that the website is not updated by MSP - but that said mine is showing mental health - so it seems to be updating on the site.

ok, Still nothing since Dec 2nd...

I'm sure this was asked and answered before...but what can I do, IF its passes 30 days? I'm "giving" them federal holidays, so by Jan 5th. If I haven't been approved, what can I do? other than email/call and complain....is it automatic that I get approved? or they in violation of the law? this is just frinking crazy..I can pass a 15 year background, and background checks and all to adopt a child, but it takes longer to get a license to buy a gun in this state...holy cow batman.

Applied Nov 30th, DHMH completed Dec 1st and then NOTHING until this morning. Active with license number/exp date and all!! You fella's that applied early Dec should have yours any day now!!

Now the wait for the card...

Applied Nov 30th, DHMH completed Dec 1st and then NOTHING until this morning. Active with license number/exp date and all!! You fella's that applied early Dec should have yours any day now!!

Now the wait for the card...

I applied on the 1st, and mine came active today as well! They must've just done a big batch today??

Should we start a pool on how long it takes to get the cards?

My wife and I both applied 12/4/15 only thing approved is payment and mental health. Hoping to get our approval soon. Tired of checking the status every day lol

U don't need the card physically... Just need to have the number of the hql when approved
